July.... Hmmm....what will this month bring to the river?
I'll stick my neck out and predict that the Big T will have some of the best fishing along the Front Range this month. Why? Because the river is used as the primary channel for pulling water from the West Slope and bringing it to the East Slope. That translates into good flows and cool temps that both the bugs and fish will enjoy.
The very best fishing will be in the late evenings when the caddis start to pop off. You'll catch more fish in the last hour of the day than you will during the entire day when the sun is up and piercing the depths. Red quill spinners will be around in the evenings also and are well imitated with an H&L Variant slapped and skittered along the banks.
Don't let anything put you off the Big T this month. It just might be the best fishin' around!Good luck,
Greg
