The Usual

June is always a questionable month because run-off is starting to slow down and some streams are clearing.  But which streams are becoming fishable is always a good question. I have it from a reliable source that the North Park area will be the first since most of the ground melt is over with.

Hayden Valley meadows always remain high but clear during this month. I like Pat’s rubber legs with a small prince or black beauty behind it. There is a lot of water to fish in this area - I think about 10 miles. Oh yeah!  Rhis is the Arky outside of Leadville.

Always a favorite is the Williams Fork over by Parshall. Optimum flow is 200 cfs and below. I like the area just below the dam with chartreuse copper johns and barr’s emerger (pmd).

Charlie Meyers recently wrote a column about Bear Lake.  This reservoir has started to come on as of late, Belly Boats and crawfish patterns are a must for this lake.

The Deckers area has been producing some nice fish on the new pattern called Amy’s ant.  It sure doesn’t look like an ant to me, dumb fish. I think the water gods are planning to flush the river again to try and move the silt.

Don’t forget to fish the river below Monarch Lake and the north fork of the Colorado.

Does anybody ever fish the Upper Frying Pan above Ruedi Reservoir?
