September, one of my favorite months to fish, should be better this year than last year, because of regular flows.

Caddis are still around and we may just see a few BWO's later in the month.   However, this time of year can be terrific using hoppers and ants.  I like buoyant patterns such as a Dave's Hopper (#8 or so) and ant patterns made of black foam.  Yeah, the ants are difficult to see on the water so just look where you think your fly may be and if you see a gentle rise, lift to see if it's a take.

Of course the "hopper and a dropper" technique will cover all the bases if you prefer something sure fire.
