St. Peters Fly Shop, Ft. Collins - (970) 498-8968 (Dave Cook, Andy Griguhn, Brady Hanson, Grant Houx) www.stpetes.com

Poudre River - There was an asphalt spill in the lower canyon on 8/25 and the river is closed from mile marker 112-117. We recommend you go above the spill where fishing is great. There are lots of hatches throughout the day and fish are eating on the surface although big nymph rigs are still very productive. There are also lots of hoppers around the river as well.  Try deep nymphing with large stone flies: 20 inchers, Wired Stones, Prince Nymphs, Golden Stones, San Juan Worms etc. Streamers are also an option: Rubber Buggers (black, olive, orange), Articulated Leeches, etc. Dries: Elk Hair Caddis #14-16, Parachute Caddis #16, Peacock Caddis #16, CDC Green Drake #10-12, and Colorado Green Drake #10-…you get the idea

Angler's Roost, Ft. Collins  - (970) 377-3785 (Gordon Waldmier, Mark Brumbraugh, Jason Haddix) www.anglers-roost.com

Gordon says all of the Delaney’s are fishing well right now. Rubber Buggers, Crayfish patterns, Pine Squirrel Leeches and similar fare as well as the usual repertoire of midge patterns will all take fish.

Estes Angler - (970) 586-2110 (Grant Rollo, Devan Ence) http://estesangler.com

Big Thompson - RMNP - Flowing at 33 CFS and fishing well. Sallies and Caddis are available on all Park waters. Try Stimulators size 16, Yellow Sallies size 16, Elk Hair Caddis 16-18, Visible Caddis 16-18, Z-wing Caddis 16-18 or Hotwire Caddis in 16-18. Terrestrial fishing has also been good. Hoppers, Ants and Beetles are good choices on any Park Water. For Hoppers try size 10-12, Beetles 12-16 and Ants (any size). In the heat of the day a dropper rig with a large Hopper and a beadhead nymph is the way to go.
